Heritage Painting

Old buildings need a different approach

Heritage and character buildings often have decades of paint layers, original timber that needs careful prep, and lead-based paint that must be handled safely.

We've painted heritage sites across Australia, including courthouses, lighthouses and historic homesteads. We understand how these buildings were made and how to protect them for the next generation.

FAQ

Heritage Painting questions

Can you safely remove lead paint?

Yes. We're trained in safe lead paint handling. We test, contain the work area, use the right removal methods and dispose of the waste correctly.

How do I know if my house has lead paint?

Homes built or painted before the 1970s are likely to have lead-based paint somewhere in the layers. We can test it before any sanding or scraping starts.

Do you work on heritage-listed buildings?

Yes. We've worked on heritage-listed homes and public buildings. Approvals are usually arranged by the owner, and we're happy to work with your architect or council on the requirements.

Can you help choose a period colour scheme?

Yes. We offer free colour consultations and can help you choose a scheme that suits the age and style of the building.
